Avala i Kosmaj
First, we arrive on Mount Avala to breathe nature not far from Belgrade. We climb the Aval Tower - one of the symbols of Belgrade. The total height of the tower is 204 meters. The lookout is at 120 meters. We will refresh ourselves with a good view of half of our beautiful Serbia. We will continue driving through the forests of the Kosmaj mountain. We visit the monastery of Tresija, which dates from the beginning of the 14th century from the time of the Serbian king Dragutin. It has been demolished and rebuilt several times throughout history. Today, in full splendor and surrounded by the linden forest, it welcomes believers and tourists.
Aranđelovac – Risovača Cave
Aranđelovac is a town with about 50,000 inhabitants. It is 76 km away from Belgrade. The richness of cultural-historical and natural monuments occupies a special place on tourist maps. At the entrance to the town rises the hill Risovača in which a cave was discovered. This cave is one of the most important sites of the Paleolithic in Europe. The Risovača Cave was excavated for sightseeing at a length of 187 meters. Remains of prehistoric man were discovered in it. It was the habitat of Neanderthals-hunters from the Old Stone Age. Its value and significance are proved by the remains of fossil species of animals from the time of the Ice Age: cave bear, woolly rhinoceros, mammoth, cave leopard, lion and many others. Risovača Cave is a natural monument and is under state protection.
Bukovička Spa - Mountain Bukulja
Bukulja Mountain is at an altitude of 696 meters. In the beautiful surroundings of beech and oak forests, there is a lookout from where you can see the Aranđelovac town and the surrounding villages. Bukovička Spa is in the Aranđelovac town at the foot of the mountain Bukulja. It is known for its healing mineral water. In the spa area, there is a Specialized rehabilitation hospital and a modern 5-star hotel Izvor. There are records of the benefits of this water from the beginning of the 19th century. Today, in the area of Aranđelovac, there is a mineral water factory Knjaz Miloš, which is world-famous for its quality. The beautiful park of Bukovička Spa covers 21.5 ha in which there are several springs of mineral water. The park is adorned with numerous rare species of trees, flower alleys, and marble sculptures by famous local and world authors. Today, about 2,000 people live in the spa. There are plenty of cottages, as well as rooms and apartments for rent - private accommodation.
