The Monastery of the Annunciation - Serbian Ortodox Monastery
We will visit the Annunciation Monastery located in Ovčar Banja. According to the inscription on the front door, it was built in 1601 on the site of a former temple from the 12th century. Beloved by the people, the Serbian patriarch Pavle became a monk in the Annunciation Monastery. The monastery is female. The special reserve was established to protect the habitat of the griffon vulture.

Griffon vulture
The species of eagle vulture, the griffon vulture, is the biggest attraction of the Uvac nature reserve. An impressive bird of prey with a wingspan of up to 3 meters and an average weight of around 9kg. Today, about 500 individuals fly around the canyon in their natural habitat. The griffon vulture colony in the Uvac canyon is one of the largest in Europe. The presence of 104 different species of birds was registered in the reserve.
Cruising Uvac - Ice Cave
We are going down from the viewpoint and boarding the boat. We cruise through the meanders of Uvac and the nature reserve in its most beautiful part for about 2 hours.
