Tour of the iconic places of Belgrade
How it used to be and how beautifully people enjoyed it. The tavern has always been a window to the world for the citizens of Belgrade. It is the same today, and much more. With our guide, we will decide which places will visit, the most attractive locations for you. By car, minibus, bus, and on foot. During our visit to the iconic places and taverns in Belgrade, we will choose a place where we will enjoy food and drink as it used to be in the good old days.
The beginnings of Belgrade taverns date back to the 16th century, while a significant number appeared in the 18th century - vanished inns and caravanserai, taverns, and restaurants. The preserved ones were built at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. Many wonderful buildings were demolished during World War II, and some demolished due to the expansion of the urban part of Belgrade. We discover forgotten pubs, old Belgrade, from the neighborhood or on the corner, where people went for no particular reason and talked over a glass of wine, to eat and drink, with musicians, who wanted what. We visit places that have survived to this day. Many old Belgrade hotels, where social life took place, various celebrations, balls, concerts, and the most important state events, have preserved the story of the life and habits of the people of Belgrade. We will pass by the locations where the first, oldest taverns were, through the part of the city known as Varoš kapija (Varoš Gate), through the streets of Knez Mihailova Karađorđeva, then through Kralja Petra Street, Cara Dušan Street, Bulevar and Sarajevska Street all way to Vračar. Some, however, remained to tickle our imagination.
